Ornaments for folks that like cute things

I’ve finally tried Fimo clay and I love it. I have been making a bunch of ornaments, and cards as well. I love using acrylic inks for my cards, the sparkly kind. Too bad the photo doesn’t show the sparkles.

Macaw art pendant beaded bezel jewelry

I sure have been busy. It has been way too long since I’ve updated this.

Image

I have been using my artwork to create pendants. Now I’m busy beading around them! This necklace features one of my paintings I made into a pendant using resin on a wood disk. I then beaded around it with seed beads and other larger beads. Available for purchase at my Etsy store.

Little paintings of birds

Cardinal

I want to show you this 3″ square acrylic painting that has been varnished. (Sorry about the glare, this varnish is a bit more glossy than I like. ) This original is available at my Etsy Store.  I have been doing a lot of these (almost daily) and really enjoying painting on these mini canvas.  I’ll post more soon, promise!

Lettering art with quotes

Revenge poster

I close my eyes...

I love to collect quotes that inspire me, make me laugh, or appeal to my sense of irony. So what to do with all these quotes?  Make art, that’s what. Here are two recent posters that are in process. I hope you enjoy them. Thanks for stopping by.

I’ve been hand carving some stamps and having a blast! I stamped some paper and added acrylic inks and pen and created this artwork that would be great in a kid’s room.  To buy a print of it click here.

Noble lion, silly hat

These are the paintings/drawings I created for Christmas 2011. I was so full of creativity last year! This year I created one painting for my card. I’ll have to show it to you later, after I surprise some folks with it. The surprise? No cat.

Frog art stamp

I love this frog, I carved it myself so I guess I’ll call it an art stamp. You will be seeing more of him in the future.

Ocean fish happiness

I really enjoy carving my own stamps. I like creating happy colorful things and sharing them with you. Stay tuned for more.

Kitty in a fishtank

There is this catfish situation going on at my house. It keeps happening pretty regularly. Why, I don’t know.

Does not look very comfortable, does it?

My Sweetie Pie hangs out here a lot. She squishes herself in and is happy as a clam, or a catfish.

Silly kitty. She brings so much joy into my life.

Peach still life painting

Two things happened: I needed a break from my zombie art, and I recently bought a fresh peach.

So I plonked the fruit down on my table, put a light on it, and got out my gouache. For those of you that aren’t familiar with gouache, it is an opaque watercolor. It comes out thick from the tube but can be watered down.  Pros and cons: it can be re-worked when water added.  That means a mistake can be fixed (carefully) but putting a layer over another can be tricky as the paint can lift up.

I’m still learning.

This is a 5″x7″ painting on 6″x9″ 140lb watercolor paper. It is available in my Etsy store; to purchase it click here.
